Patong is only 10 minutes away by taxi or tuk-tuk and offers a huge variety of entertainment and dining options. Phuket International Airport takes approximately 45 minutes to get to by hotel car.

Directions
From Phuket International Airport, follow route 402 south. Before Phuket Town, take the bypass road southwest until you reach the four-way intersection with Central Department Store on your right hand side. Turn west along route 4029 and continue along this route: first west to Patong and then south to Karon Beach. The entrance to Mövenpick Resort and Spa Karon Beach Phuket is soon after Wat Karon on the right-hand side as you are travelling south.
To and from the airport
Airport transfers are relatively simple. There are two official transport companies with booths right inside the arrival lounge. Private airport limousines or minibuses are available to get to the major beaches at the south or west of the island. Metered taxis are also available.
The airport bus is a cheaper alternative as long as you are not in a rush. Ask at the airport for their current departure schedules and pricing.
Song-taews (local buses)
These trucks with benches in the back serve both locals and tourists in need of a ride. Song-taews travel designated routes, leaving the central market area in Phuket town starting early in the morning and stopping approximately at 6.00 pm. They frequent the various beaches every hour. The average cost is between THB 10-40 per person depending on the length of the journey. There are no bus stops on the island, so to flag down a ride, simply wave your hand down to signal the driver to stop.
Cars
One of the best ways to see the wonders of Phuket is to rent a car. Be certain before signing an agreement that insurance is included in the rental price. The road system on Phuket is well maintained and the scenery is spectacular.
Motorcycles
Small bikes can be rented for an average of THB 300 - 600 per day. An important point to remember is that motorcycles do not come insured. You should drive with caution at all times. Inexperienced motorists should consider other modes of transportation.
Remember to wear a helmet and you must have a Thai or an International motorbike license.
Tuk-Tuk
If you want your own private taxi, look for a tuk tuk, a tiny mini-truck to carry about four (or more). You should state your destination and agree on the price before setting off. Trips further afield, beyond the immediate beach area, can cost up to THB 400 - depending on the distance, the weather and your bargain skills.
